Because I’ve been a teacher who travels I’ve never created a space in my own home devoted to music. That’s all changed now that I offer day time group lessons. So, the challenge for me is to create a space for music without sacrificing style. Though I love teaching young children, I don’t want my studio to look like a pre-school. To start, here’s a peek at the spaces I have to work with.
The room I’m using is very long. One end has a cute nook like area…but I’m challenged by the curve of the windows. Still thinking about that one.
This is the view looking at the other end of the room. As you can see I have a large farm table and bench and a very large couch (8ft long) all my music kits and music stuff is just waiting to find a place. You can just see my piano there on the lower right.
So, I moved two book shelves I had from another room and put the piano between them. This gave me plenty of room for my music for little learners kits. I’m still working on the rest of the room and will post pictures tomorrow. Oh and the ABC letters are from Micheals. I bought them white and modge podged music papers onto the front of them. That’s for another post though.
